Undies Sundays

Our 2011 Undies Sundays drive was a success! We collected a
record 15,284 items!

A huge thanks to the area churches that participated in the drive, as well
as to Altru's Professional Nurses Committee and to everyone in the
community who donated items.

Items were distributed to 15 of our partner agencies including Northeast
Human Service Center, CVIC, The Village Family Service, Center,
St. Joseph's Social Care & Thrift Store, and Salvation Army, among others.

	'Undies Sundays' Fact Sheet
♥	MISSION: The Community donates NEW underwear, socks, diapers, and personal care items. Items are distributed to families in the community who are in need.
♥	The program was started in 2003.
♥	Yearly over 10,000 items are donated.
♥	The donations have a huge impact on the kids and adults that receive them.
♥	Churches have always been the primary collection points, hence the name "Undies Sundays".
♥	Undies Sundays runs the first three Sundays in October.
♥	The clothing items will be distributed to the agencies that operate shelters, CVIC, Salvation Army and St. Joseph's Social Care & Thrift Store.
♥	Diapers and personal care items will also go to area food shelves because food stamps cannot purchase diapers or non-food items.
